Just yesterday afternoon at around 3:50, an earthquake that registered east of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. There was another earthquake that registered close to Los Banos at approximately 4:20pm.
The Sierra Nevada one was the one most felt to us Central Valley denizens, as its magnitude had been upgraded to 6.0 by USGS. Both quakes struck near the surface as well (3 to 5 miles underground), so it was more strongly felt. Those in Sierra Nevada also witnessed boulders falling, which thankfully didn’t seem to hurt anyone.
