Although the corona virus is raging, national forests such as the Sierra National Forest are partially open. All recreational aspects are closed (bathrooms, SNO-Park parking, campgrounds). Meanwhile Yosemite is completely closed, with a ranger keeping watch ready to turn you back. Yet, it was a very nice visit. The pandemic meant very little people were around. Not only do I get to focus on nature more, it makes it easier to uphold social distancing. I’ve only ever seen 2 groups of people pass by while exploring and running around in the snow.
