There are various Me-n-Eds bar/grills around town, be it at River Park or the Tower District. Out of all of them however, I think the one on Cedar is the best out of all of them. The prices, the selection, the atmosphere, and the TVs are excellent. With restaurants now being able to have indoor dining, it was time to watch a Golden State Warriors game there. First and foremost, the drinks. Rope-A-Dope and El Jefe slushies were what we tried, and both were tasty and relatively cheap, considering how much drink you get (double the price and it’s the prices clubs would charge.).
The Rope-A-Dope, which seems to be a Victory Grill exclusive, is similar to an Adios Motherfucker, having various types of spirits, containing blue curacao, sweet and sour mix, and deceptively easy to drink. Meanwhile, the El Jefe (translate to “The Boss”) slushies, are essentially a margarita slushie. Unlike a standard margarita, is has an addition of vodka. Like the margarita, it still comes 5 different flavors: original, strawberry, mango, peach, or pomegranate. The pomengranate was what I had, and for those who like very sour drinks, it’s for you. The peach is probably the sweetest, maybe too sweet.
As for the appetizers, all of them are tasty. The ones we tried were garlic fries, potato bacon cheese wedges, wings (not my favorite since they weren’t boneless, but that’s me), and finally, nachos. We made a mistake with the nachos as a last item, not because it was bad, but too much! Had we started with it, we wouldn’t need any other appetizers. But, now we know it can feed 4 all by itself. This place had an nice environment as far as I could tell; the waiters and bartender were chill, and everyone was just enjoying their sports team that happened to be playing on the TVs. The Golden State Warriors won that night, so we were all sorts of happy.
